About the National Fire Academy

The National Fire Academy (NFA) provides free, specialized training courses and advanced management programs for middle- and top-level fire officers, fire service instructors, technical professionals, and representatives from allied professions.

We promise that you will learn a lot in the classroom and just as much from your classmates.

Contract instructors wanted!

We are always looking for contract instructor candidates with a passion to further the professional development of the fire and emergency medical services and allied professions. NFA courses are some of the best in the nation, and we would love to talk with you about joining our team.

How to teach for NFA

If you have substantial involvement in fire prevention and control, emergency medical services, or fire-related emergency management activities, we welcome you to apply. Courses are delivered online; at our campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland; and throughout the nation in cooperation with state and local fire training organizations and local colleges and universities.
